Decoration on bookcloth

Our bookcloth is produced with high grade base cloths and innovative production procees. Natural fabrics can all be decorated with different quality results, depending on the threads count and fabric texture, and coated or uncoated items.

Coated cloths : Bukram P extra; Bukram P extra Fa; Canvas extra R; Canvas extra R Fa. Our acrylic coated cotton based cloths offer a very good performance on hot foil blocking, blind blocking, screen printing and offset printing.

Paperbacked, dyed cotton and rayon cloths: (Cialux, Assuan, Tasmania, Luxor, Canvas extra, Cialinen, Canapetta). natural finished cotton and rayon cloths can be decorated with higher or lower performances depending on their threads count and texture. The higher number of thread gives and lighter texture give a better performance.

Silky finished rayon cloths: our filament rayon cloths are perfect for any kind of decoration, thanks to the higher threads count and smooths surface. Setalux; Setalux Metal, Shantung.

 

    Hot foil blocking:

    • Recommended foils: Kurz
    • Pastels: Colorit VB 900
    • Gold: Luxor AB 220
    • Silver: Alufin AB
    • Pressure: strong
    • Temperature: 115 - 120°

    Screen printing:

    • Inks: vinyl, acrylic, solvent base
    • Do not use UV inks
    • White background is recommended on colored clothss
    • Drying in warm ari oven at 60°C
    • Conditioninig with cold air
    • Do not use varnishes

Offset printing :

Offset printing on bookcloth does not require any special equipments and skills. The best quality printing is achievable on Setalux, thanks to the very high number of threads and the silky surface.

Setting: keep loading at a minimum to better manage setting
Ink: use quick set ink; oxidization ink
Screen: 70 lines/cm (178/inch)
Damping: pH>5,5 and a fountain solution of isopropyl alcohol
Drying: do not use UV dryer or infrared oven
Humidity: ideal relative humidity is 55%
Temperature: 20°C/70 degrees F
Pressure: 10% more than standard
Piles: low piles recommeded
Varnish: use conventional varnishes (pigment; water based); do not use UV varnishes
